The personal assistant to late gospel singer Toluwanisings, Babadunni, has recounted the circumstances surrounding the singer’s sudden collapse and death, alleging that several hospitals in Ibadan, Oyo State, turned them away due to the ongoing doctors’ strike across many states
In the video that surfaced on social media, Babadunni revealed that the singer was in good health before he collapsed.
He explained that they immediately rushed him to about three to four hospitals, but none provided the assistance they needed. He also claimed that one hospital told them its doctors were on strike.
In his words: “We rushed him to different hospitals in Ibadan but they rejected us. One of the hospitals said their doctors are on strike. We took him to like 3, 4 hospitals in Ibadan.”
The personal assistant said they did everything possible to save the singer, including praying for his recovery, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
He expressed sadness over the incident, saying they did all they could and accepted the loss as God’s will.
His account has raised concerns about access to emergency medical care and the difficulties families may face when seeking urgent treatment for loved ones.
Fans and well-wishers await burial details from the family as tributes still pour in from the general public who have had an encounter with him directly and indirectly.
