As the Milwaukee Brewers go to the World Series, team barber Jose "JP" Perez Zamora is tasked with making the players and coaches look good. But the players might notice something new.
A tattoo on the back of his neck that reads "2026 World Series" with the Brewers logo.
"Growing up on the south side of Milwaukee, going to the games when I was younger, it just hits home," Zamora said. "It's history in the making."
Zamora got the tattoo after the Tampa Bay Rays won the American League Championship and will come to Milwaukee to face the Brewers in Game One of the World Series on Friday Oct. 23 at American Family Field.
Zamora, owner of Flashy Faded Barbershop in Bay View, has been cutting hair for the Brewers since 2021 just one player at a time, and became the official barber in 2023.
"It's a reminder of what we're doing, 2026, it's a special year, so it means a lot to me. It means the world to me," Zamora said. "I've been a Brewers fan my whole life. So why not?"

Baseball is well known for its superstitions. Is Zamora worried about any jinx or bad luck after getting this tattoo?
"At the end of the day, look at what we did to the Dodgers, look what we did to San Diego, look what we've been doing all year," Zamora said. "This group is very special and they're going to be able to pull it off... it's up to them and their talent. There's no such thing as a jinx."
There is a space between the "World Series" and a line underneath which means more can be added to the tattoo.
"I'm either going to put 'champs' or if not, I'll just put 'barber,'" Zamora said. "It means a lot to me, just making it to the World Series. It's been 44 years since we made it there and, like I said, getting there is an accomplishment for the team, for Milwaukee."

As of Oct. 20, none of the Brewers players have seen the tattoo in person but they likely will later this week when Zamora gets them lined up for the World Series.
"They're gonna probably laugh," Zamora said. "It's my commitment to the team. I love the Brewers. I've been a Brewers fan all my life."
