The letter, dated October 19, 2026, and bearing the reference number 01/15/OCT, claims that PLU’s management had ordered a formal investigation into Gashumba’s conduct and placed him under interim administrative measures pending the outcome of disciplinary proceedings.
A letter purportedly issued by the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), announcing the immediate suspension of Frank Gashumba over alleged attacks against Balokole and Pentecostal churches, has been dismissed as fake by the party’s General Secretary.
The letter, dated October 19, 2026, and bearing the reference number 01/15/OCT, claims that PLU’s management had ordered a formal investigation into Gashumba’s conduct and placed him under interim administrative measures pending the outcome of disciplinary proceedings.
It is purportedly signed by PLU National Vice Chairman Michael Kaguta Toyota, who says the decision was intended to address concerns about Gashumba’s statements regarding religious communities.
However, the PLU General Secretary has dismissed the document as fake, disputing its authenticity.
The letter’s claims should therefore not be treated as an official PLU decision.
