Colombia vs Chile is set for Friday 13 November 2026 in Cali, a charity friendly at the Estadio Olímpico Pascual Guerrero. For US travelers, it is a rare chance to see the national team in a city hit hard by August’s earthquake.
The Colombian Football Federation says the full gate will fund reconstruction, but it has not announced prices or a ticket seller. This guide sets out what is confirmed, what is still open, and what to check before you book flights.
Why the Colombia vs Chile Friendly Matters
Colombia vs Chile is a friendly on Friday 13 November 2026, played in the November FIFA window, when club football pauses. The Colombian Football Federation, known as the FCF, announced the game on Monday 14 September.
It is the first of two meetings, with the return game at the Estadio Nacional in Santiago on Tuesday 17 November. Chile is a fellow South American side, so both games work as tune-ups against a familiar rival.
What sets the Cali game apart is its purpose, because the FCF says the gate money will go to earthquake relief. The Cali mayor’s office, led by Alejandro Eder, backed the plan, the federation says.
It is also a homecoming of sorts, since the city counts this as the senior men’s team’s ninth match at the stadium. The first came in April 1962, a 2-2 friendly draw with Mexico.
Only one of the eight earlier games was competitive, a World Cup qualifier against Paraguay on 3 November 1985. Colombia won 2-1 that day, but the result was not enough to go through.
The last visit was on 24 January 1999, a 1-1 draw with Denmark, a gap the city puts at 27 years. The city’s own history of the ground credits Faustino Asprilla with Colombia’s goal that day.
The Earthquake Behind the Match
A magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck western Colombia on Monday 10 August 2026, centered at San José del Palmar in Chocó department. Cali, in the Valle del Cauca region, was among the hardest-hit cities.
Colombia’s disaster agency, the UNGRD, counted 331 deaths and 4,505 injured nationwide by Thursday 10 September, Noticias RCN reported. The quake touched 497 municipalities in 16 departments.
In Cali, El Comercio reported on Tuesday 20 October that 150 deaths had been certified and more than 1,500 people were injured. It added that over 15,000 homes in the city reported losses.
Search and rescue in Cali has ended, and crews have moved on to demolition and rebuilding. Mayor Eder said “esto apenas comienza”, which means “this is only just beginning”.
The Colombia vs Chile charity match is meant to put money into that rebuilding. For the state side of the effort, see our report on Colombia’s US$312 million quake fund.
Tickets, Prices and Kick-Off Time
Tickets for Colombia vs Chile are not on sale yet, and the FCF has not named a seller. On Monday 14 September it said sales and press accreditation would be announced through its official channels.
Prices are unpublished too, though FCF president Ramón Jesurún said normal prices would apply, Pulzo reported. Treat any price you see before the federation publishes one as unofficial.
For a guide to cost, the FCF sold tickets for women’s national team games at the same stadium in March through TuBoleta. They ran from COP 40,000 (about US$13) to COP 90,000 (about US$29) per match, fees included.
Dollar figures here use 3,153.77 pesos per US dollar, the rate on Wednesday 21 October 2026. Whether the men’s game will use TuBoleta is not confirmed, so buy only from the seller the FCF names.
Kick-off is not official either, and the FCF’s own calendar still showed “por definir”, or to be defined, on 21 October. Gol Caracol reported a 7 p.m. start in Colombia on Friday 16 October.
Because US clocks fall back on Sunday 1 November, 7 p.m. in Colombia will match 7 p.m. Eastern Time on match night. Gol Caracol and the DiTu streaming service will show the game in Colombia, but no US broadcaster has been named.
The Stadium and How to Get There
The Estadio Olímpico Pascual Guerrero sits in the San Fernando neighborhood of Cali and is the home ground of América de Cali. The earthquake damaged buildings around it, and the west stand stayed closed until October.
On Friday 9 October the city said the west stand would reopen in stages, with its second floor limited to 50%. It kept the third floor for the press, while the other stands run at their full authorized capacity.
How many seats will be on sale for Colombia vs Chile has not been published. Cali’s local football commission, which includes the national police, sets the rules for entry on match days.
Cali’s international airport, Alfonso Bonilla Aragón, resumed normal operations once power returned after the quake, Infobae reported on Tuesday 11 August. Allow extra time on match day, because Friday evening traffic and gate checks can add delay.
The State Department says not to wave down taxis on the street and to use a dispatch service or ride app instead. Ask your hotel to book your ride to the ground and your ride home.

Tips for US and Foreign Visitors
US citizens need no visa for tourist stays up to 90 days, the State Department says, capped at 180 days a year. Your passport must be valid for the whole stay, and six months of validity is recommended.
The department also recommends the free online Check-Mig form, which you can file in the 72 hours before your flight. Colombia may refuse entry to travelers without a return ticket.
The State Department has rated Colombia Level 3, reconsider travel, since Tuesday 31 March 2026, citing crime, terrorism, unrest, kidnapping and disasters. Cali is excluded from the Level 4 do-not-travel zone that covers the rest of Valle del Cauca.
US government employees may travel to Cali only with permission, the advisory notes. It also advises you to keep a low profile, avoid street ATMs and avoid demonstrations and crowds.
More than 300 aftershocks followed the main quake by 10 September, El País Cali reported. Learn your hotel’s exit routes, and check the Colombian Geological Survey for current alerts.

The return game is set for Tuesday 17 November, according to the FCF’s announcement and the Chilean federation, known as the ANFP. The FCF’s website calendar still lists Chile vs Colombia on 19 November, so check the date before booking flights to Santiago.
Full stadium capacity depends on engineers’ checks of the west stand. The city has not said whether the floor limits will be lifted by 13 November.
