LUGANSK, October 19. /TASS/. The Ukrainian armed forces’ casualties, including foreign mercenaries, reached 9,000 personnel killed and wounded over the past week, military expert Andrey Marochko reported.
He said that fighters of Russia’s Battlegroup East dealt the heaviest losses to the enemy.
"The enemy’s medical and irreplaceable losses for the week totaled about 9,055 militants and mercenaries. The greatest losses in manpower were inflicted on Ukrainian armed formations in the area of responsibility of the Battlegroup Center, which operates in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and in the Dnepropetrovsk Region," he wrote on his VKontakte page after analyzing data released by the Russian Defense Ministry.
Marochko added that during the week, the Russian military also destroyed 5,600 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), 15 marine vessels, nearly 700 different combat vehicles, 47 field artillery guns, and 43 enemy electronic warfare and counter-battery stations.
