The shark was discovered last month, and two previous attempts to lure it out to sea using water jets and nets were unsuccessful.
But the third attempt, carried out on Wednesday, went according to plan, and the shark has left the channel.
The hope was initially that the shark would find its way back to the sea on its own, but as the water temperature drops, concerns about its well-being are growing.
The shark has attracted great interest, and more than 1.6 million people have come to the channel to see it.
