Speaking on the pro-government B92 television, Vucic announced that up to 2 billion euro will be allocated for upgrading healthcare facilities, while addressing the country’s water and sewage infrastructure will require “tens of billions.”
He emphasized that these infrastructure projects are what matter most to Serbian people, alongside maintaining peace and stability, military neutrality, maintaining national dignity on the international stage (…).
Vucic admitted that sewage infrastructure remains a widespread issue across Serbia, noting that he had expected progress to move at a much faster pace.
“Unfortunately, that wasn’t possible. It was less about the funding and more about other complications, where the blame lies both with us and with others,” Vucic said.
Regarding the water supply, he noted that the issue could be fully resolved within eight to nine years, “provided that work begins immediately,” according to B92 TV’s website.
Vucic added that the city of Sabac requires roughly 160–170 kilometers of new piping, while the city of Kragujevac needs over 680 kilometers.
