Loy Krathong 2026 falls on Tuesday, November 24, the full-moon night of the 12th month in the Thai lunar calendar. People across the country float krathong, small rafts of banana leaf, flowers and candles, on rivers, canals and lakes.
Hotels along the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok have announced dinners, cultural shows and fireworks for the night. In Chiang Mai, the festival coincides with Yi Peng, the Lanna lantern festival, and some hotels there are hosting events over two evenings.
This guide keeps last year’s five venues and adds four hotels that have already set their 2026 plans. Three of the original five had not announced programmes by October 19, and this guide will be updated when they do.
