Colombo, Oct. 20 (Daily Mirror) - Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne said that a debate on delays in filling vacancies in the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal could not be permitted under Article 41(c) of the Constitution.
He said the appointment of judges to the superior courts falls within the powers vested in the Executive President by the Constitution and, therefore, the proposed debate could not be allowed.
