Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian arrived in Armenia on Friday morning. The Iranian president will attend the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 17) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) to be held in Yerevan.
The COP17 also includes talks and exchanges of views with the leaders of a number of countries, who will also participate in it. Iran was one of the first countries to sign the CBD and officially joined it in 1996.
Over the past three decades, the Islamic Republic has played a significant role in developing mechanisms and rules in connection with biodiversity and environmental protection.
