Selena Gomez celebrated her Rare Impact Fund’s fourth benefit yesterday evening—and spoke briefly about her longtime friend Taylor Swift getting married during an interview with Entertainment Tonight. The outlet asked if Gomez has ever given Swift any marriage advice since the Rare Beauty founder just marked her first wedding anniversary with Benny Blanco.
Gomez had a sweet response. “I don’t need to!” she said. “No, I love that [we’re both married]. I think she’s probably the best to give me that.”

For years, Gomez has shared how much Swift’s relationship advice has helped her. In 2009, Gomez said she turned to Swift for dating advice during an interview with Seventeen. “Every single problem I ever have is healable by Taylor Swift,” she said. “If I ever I have an issue, Taylor has gone through it, because she’s older than me, and she gives the most thought-out answers. And what I love about Taylor is that she does believe in the whole love story and Prince Charming and soul mates. Because of her, I haven’t lost faith. We literally talk every day.”
More than 10 years later, in January 2020, Gomez elaborated on the ways Swift has supported her in her personal life. “There’s so much of my friendship with Taylor that people don’t know about because we don’t necessarily feel the need to post about everything we do,” she told WSJ. Magazine. “She has showed up for me in ways that I would have never expected. Flown in because I was hurt and was going through something. Stuff that was going on with my family. It’s been proven year after year and in every moment of my life that she is one of my best friends in the world. We don’t agree on everything, but we respect each other with everything.”
In September 2024, Gomez told Vanity Fair that she can always pick up the phone to call the “Patient Zero” singer. “She is really like a big sister to me,” Gomez said.
The outlet wrote that Gomez, who was then dating Benny Blanco, would reach out to seek “advice on music or how to navigate new friendships at their respective levels of fame.”
