Chrissy, pictured in This Is Us, had pushback from fans who had seen her as an inspiration
"People are going to criticize you no matter what you do, no matter what you say, how you dress, what you look like – thin, overweight, mid-size, whatever," she told Us Weekly, sharing that she had received pushback from fans who had seen her as an inspiration.
She had previously advocated for authentic plus-size representation in film and TV, and had spoken candidly about finding self-acceptance. Over the years Chrissy had also spoke out for other plus-size women and the barriers they often face in the workplace and in fashion, as well as in the world of dating.

'We're not taught to love ourselves or be our own cheerleaders'
"The truth is, I don't find my value in my body or my weight. It's really more about who I am and what I can offer as a human being to the people in my life and the people in the world. I know that sounds corny. And I know you've heard it before. But it's really true: We're so much more than our bodies," she wrote in 2016.
"Its a big issue particularly for us plus-size ladies and for anyone dealing with weight, because we're not taught to love ourselves or be our own cheerleaders."
