When the news broke that the Minnesota Vikings had shipped former 10th overall pick J.J. McCarthy to the New York Giants, it split the fanbase in half. McCarthy was sent away to be the backup's backup, but he got his chance to play this past Sunday, and did he ever put on a show.
McCarthy would play in the fourth quarter of the Giants' 34-27 loss to the New Orleans Saints, and he put on quite the performance, throwing for 243 yards in one quarter. This would be the most yards thrown in the fourth quarter this season, according to PFF. Below are the five highest marks this season:
Most Pass Yards in the 4th Qtr of a game this season

JJ McCarthy 243 (vs NO)
Matt Stafford 191 (vs DEN)
Joe Burrow 179 (vs JAX)
Jared Goff 161 (vs CAR)

It's worth noting that his fourth pass attempt as a Giant was an interception, which drew quite the pop from the McCarthy haters. However, his play in the fourth quarter may make John Harbaugh question whether McCarthy should get the start next week against the Houston Texans on Sunday, over Jameis Winston.
