The Dallas Cowboys have struggled with health in their secondary all season. On Tuesday, they decided Caelen Carson was no longer in the mix. While it opened a roster spot for Juanyeh Thomas, it could also mean Cobie Durant returns to the field soon.
Cowboys sign S Juanyeh Thomas to active roster, waive CB Caelen Carson – Tommy Yarrish, DallasCowboys.com
Juanyeh Thomas is officially back on the 53-man roster after a few weeks on the practice squad.
Over the course of his three previous seasons with Dallas, Thomas played in 36 games, including starting three in 2025, and posted 62 tackles, five pass breakups and a forced fumble. Most of his work over that time has come on special teams, including 65 snaps there through three games played in 2026.
In 2024, the Cowboys drafted Carson in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft out of Wake Forest. Over the course of the last three seasons, Carson played in 17 games and started eight for Dallas. Carson tallied 45 career tackles, a tackle for loss and six pass breakups in that time span.
Cowboys have gone away from these key things that once sparked optimism in Dallas’ offense – Joseph Hoyt, Dallas Morning News
It’s unsettling how the Cowboys abandoned the run game versus the Green Bay Packers
Sunday’s game was never really out of hand from a scoring perspective, however. Still, that didn’t keep the Cowboys from doing something they’ve done a lot this season: abandon the running game. The Cowboys finished with 54 passes compared to 15 running attempts. They had only one rushing attempt in the fourth quarter.
Last year, the Cowboys were 16th in rushing attempts. This year, they’re 31st.
After Sunday’s game, quarterback Dak Prescott said the Cowboys shouldn’t lose offensive balance when the game is still manageable.

DeMarvion Overshown to return vs. Eagles on MNF – Patrik Walker, DallasCowboys.com
With Dee Winters expected to miss some time, DeMarvion Overshown’s return is vital for the defense.
Expect Overshown to operate on a pitch count as he ramps back up, but he is beyond excited to return with plenty of football left on the Cowboys’ 2026 schedule, and in a wide-open NFC East.
“We play on Monday, so now I’ve got to wait an extra day, but I’m excited,” he said. “I’ve definitely taken this rehab, this recovery, very serious. I’ve been trying to get back on the field since the week after I got out. Getting this opportunity to go this week, I’m thankful that I’m still able to get to do what I love.”
Eagles cut former Cowboys RB in flurry of roster moves – Johnny McGonigal, PennLive.com
Former Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue won’t get his chance at a revenge game on Monday Night Football.
The Eagles have waived former Cowboys running back Jaydon Blue, the team announced Tuesday.
Blue initially joined Steele and Pierce on the Eagles’ practice squad, where he remained for most of this season. Blue was signed to the active roster after Jalen Hurts landed on IR with blood clots. Blue did not log any carries or offensive snaps in Sunday’s loss to the Carolina Panthers.
5 things to know about the Philadelphia Eagles ahead of Week 7 matchup with Dallas Cowboys – Abraham Nudelstejer, Dallas Morning News
Here’s what you need to know about the Eagles and where things stand behind enemy lines.
Offense in disarray
Sean Mannion is in his first season as the Eagles’ offensive coordinator, and Sirianni has already spoken out in his defense to dispel rumors that he could be fired.
At his news conference Monday, Sirianni defended Mannion.
“I have a high confidence level in everybody in this building,” Sirianni said. “Sean, that’s why I hired him. Right now, we are in a rough spot, as we know. And so it is about controlling the things you can control in this moment and figuring out what the next steps are. I think we gotta find out what the things are that we have to get better at and what we do well.”
