The St. John's (Shrewsbury) football team is still unbeaten. This win was a head-turner.
The Pioneers prevailed over Xaverian, 42-22, on the road on Friday, Oct. 9, and is measured as one of the state's fastest-rising contenders in this week's edition of the Super 25 Massachusetts high school football rankings. The team (5-0) has scored 34 or more points in every game this fall.
Xaverian, on the wrong side of three consecutive games, clings on to one of the final spots in our top 10 tier.
Elsewhere: St. John's Prep perches. King Philip steadies. Springfield Central, Marshfield, Milton, Andover and others keep the train pushing.
Here are our updated rankings ahead of Week 6:
Jason Snow (The Patriot Ledger), Tim Whelan (USA Today Co., New England) and Chris McDaniel (USA Today Co., New England) will collectively rank the top MIAA football teams every week this season.
