Football can bring some special nights, and for Bournemouth, this was undoubtedly one of them. AC Milan arrived at the Vitality Stadium carrying the weight of European history, but it was the Cherries who left with a result that will be remembered for years to come. A red card for the visitors and two penalties inevitably shaped the contest, with Justin Kluivert and Marcus Tavernier keeping their cool from the spot before Amine Adli added the finishing touch with a stunning free kick. Yet, beyond the drama, this was an historic 3-0 victory and a truly special night for Bournemouth and their supporters.
Michele Di Gregorio
The Italian stopper was brought in for only his second game for the Cherries and as with his first against Lincoln, it was another clean sheet. Barely anything to do but done what was needed in the very little thrown his way. 7/10
James Hill
Hill once again showed his versatility across the backline by starting at right full back in this one, to help give club captain Adam Smith a rest. The defender was pretty flawless in both halves, starting at right back before moving into a more natural centre half role. 8/10
Bafode Diakite
Bafo will be pleased that his return to the starting line up ended in another win and clean sheet. Started at centre back before switching with Hill to right back, and was pretty solid throughout despite a few fouls and clumsy yellow. 7/10
Antonio Silva
The summer signing looked like a rolls royce from the back for the Cherries, showing a top passing range and winning of his duels with ease. 9/10
Adrien Truffert
Truffert was composed and as solid as ever in the left back slot. The Frenchman showed his energy and quality in abundance on the night. 8/10

Tyler Adams
The American skipper was his usual battling self before being subbed to preserve his energy ahead of the weekends trip to Man Utd. Tyler was the man at the centre of the red card incident where he was pushed in the face by Milan keeper Maignan. 7/10
Ryan Christie
Christie had the much deserved honour of captaining the side for this special night, and he delivered a stunning performance. Ryan was everywhere and used the ball well throughout. 9/10
Marcus Tavernier
Given the duty of slotting home Bournemouth's second from the spot, another thoroughly deserved goal for the ever consistent midfielder. 8/10
Ben Gannon-Doak
Ben certainly is making a serious case for minutes with another dazzling showing on the wing. Constantly running at his opponent and getting Cherries fans off their seats. 9/10

Justin Kluivert
Got the Cherries going by expertly placing home from the spot, Justin was a constant menace to the Milan backline all night. 8/10
Evanilson
As so often is the case, the Brazilian lead the Bournemouth frontline impeccably well and an early sub was a bonus for the Cherries, with a busy schedule ahead. 8/10
SUBS
A lovely moment for Amine Adli who smashed home the third via a free kick. Rayan and Lewis Cook both came close, Alvaro Rodriguez with a decent cameo but sadly Alex Toth had to be subbed back off following injury.
