Bando Engineering & Construction has signed E-Mart Everyday, a supermarket chain, as a tenant at the retail portion of Kaive Yuborah Goyang Janghang, a mixed-use residential complex it is building in the Janghang district of Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. The builder plans to draw on steady demand from the large housing complex and visitors to nearby Ilsan Lake Park to fill out the retail space.
Bando said on the 16th that it had signed the lease with E-Mart Everyday for Shigan, the branded mall within the complex. The contracted space covers 852.4 square meters of exclusive floor area.
Kaive Yuborah Goyang Janghang is being built in Janghang-dong, Ilsandong-gu, Goyang, with six buildings rising up to 49 stories above ground and four floors below, for a total of 1,694 units. Units range from 84 to 170 square meters of exclusive floor area, and all sold out during presales.
Shigan, the retail complex on the site, spans one basement level and two floors above ground with a total floor area of about 41,314 square meters. Beyond the 1,694 households in the complex, it is positioned to serve roughly 11,000 households in the surrounding Janghang district. Its proximity to Ilsan Lake Park is also expected to bring in outside visitors.
Bando said it will accelerate efforts to sign additional tenants now that E-Mart Everyday, which sells groceries and household goods, has committed to the site. "The housing demand from a large complex and the location next to the lake park worked in our favor in this deal," a Bando official said. "We will bring in a range of brands to develop this into a leading retail destination in the area."
Separately, Bando plans to unveil Kaive Yuborah & Shigan in the Gyeyang new town in Incheon this month. The project will supply a combined 1,110 units — 614 in block AC3 and 496 in block AC4 — and the retail space within the complex will also carry the Shigan brand.
