JazzWorld, Pakistan’s leading digital services platform, has signed a Letter of Intent with UNICEF to explore initiatives that advance digital inclusion, empower young people, promote online safety and strengthen technology-enabled humanitarian response across Pakistan.
The proposed partnership will bring together the organizations’ strengths in technology, connectivity, innovation and advocacy to explore scalable initiatives supporting children, young people, women and underserved communities. As AI reshapes learning, work and access to services, expanding digital access and capabilities will be essential to ensuring these communities can participate in and benefit from an increasingly AI-enabled world.
JazzWorld and UNICEF will explore opportunities for collaboration in four priority areas: digital inclusion and youth empowerment, online safety and digital well-being, humanitarian response and disaster preparedness, and advocacy and public engagement.
Under the digital inclusion agenda, the organizations will explore opportunities to expand access to digital education, literacy and skills development, particularly for young people from underserved communities. These capabilities are also foundational to helping young people understand, use and benefit from AI safely and responsibly.
The collaboration will explore ways to strengthen Pakistan’s Digital Youth Hub, established by the Prime Minister’s Youth Program in partnership with UNICEF, by drawing on JazzWorld’s technical capabilities to support learning, employability and participation in the digital economy.
The organizations will also explore initiatives to promote safer and more responsible digital participation, particularly among children, adolescents and girls, through online safety awareness, digital literacy and efforts to address online harassment, abuse and other technology-facilitated risks. In parallel, they will assess opportunities to use mobile connectivity and digital communication platforms to strengthen disaster preparedness, disseminate early warnings and improve access to timely information for communities affected by humanitarian emergencies.
Commenting on the collaboration, Syed Zaheer Mehdi, Group Chief Corporate & Regulatory Affairs, JazzWorld, said: “Bridging the digital divide is essential to bridging the emerging AI divide. Young people need access, skills and safe digital environments to benefit from the opportunities AI can create. Our intent to partner with UNICEF reflects a shared ambition to expand opportunities for underserved communities, protect children online and strengthen community resilience. By combining our technology and connectivity capabilities with UNICEF’s expertise in child rights and development, we hope to help build the foundations for an inclusive AI future in Pakistan.”
The proposed partnership will also explore public advocacy, cause-related campaigns, customer and employee engagement, and other initiatives aligned with shared priorities for children, young people, women and underserved communities. Through this collaboration, JazzWorld and UNICEF aim to identify practical ways to help communities learn, earn, stay safe and respond to crises, contributing to a more inclusive and resilient Pakistan.
