Calgary Flames fans had plenty of reasons to cheer at the Saddledome on Thursday night.
Thanks to goals from Aydar Suniev and Joel Farabee, the Flames defeated the Minnesota Wild 2-1. Suddenly, a team that seemingly couldn’t do anything right in the early portion of the season has won three of its last four games.

While the Flames’ performance was certainly worth celebrating, the fans in attendance were arguably at their loudest when an adorable young supporter appeared on the jumbotron late in the third period.
Despite all the noise in the building, camera crews spotted a young fan fast asleep with just minutes remaining in the game. Shortly after he appeared on the big screen, another fan woke him up and handed him a puck that had gone out of play.
Understandably disoriented at first, the youngster quickly threw his hands in the air in celebration when he realized the entire crowd was cheering him on.
This is the best highlight of the game 😂

“Puck just goes to good players,” Flames colour voice Kevin Sawyer said. “He’s unconcious. Using his unconcious mind, I would say. This is awesome!”
While he may have missed a good chunk of the action on the ice, the young fan certainly didn’t miss out on his own moment in the spotlight.
The Saddledome crowd erupted as he celebrated with his new puck, turning an otherwise ordinary late-game jumbotron appearance into one of the night’s most memorable moments.
The Flames, meanwhile, will look to carry their recent momentum into their next outing on Saturday night against the Detroit Red Wings. But for one young fan, Thursday night will be remembered for an entirely different reason.
