I know what you’re thinking. Upon seeing Ben Barnes as Prince Caspian in The Chronicles of Narnia as a kid, you probably thought you were destined to be his princess. Unfortunately for the thirsty folks of the internet, it seems that Ben might actually be betrothed.
At least, that’s what a recent Page Six report suggests after an insider told the outlet he quietly got engaged to artist Aubrey Cleland late last year. The couple, who have reportedly been linked for a little more than two years, remain relatively low-key and keep their relationship out of the spotlight. They have yet to confirm the news themselves, so take it with a grain of salt. But in the meantime, here’s everything you need to know about Ben Barnes’s reported fiancée, Aubrey Cleland.
Aubrey is a Cancer
Yep. Per her IMDb profile, Aubrey was born on July 10, 1993, making her a 33-year-old Cancer. (For what it’s worth, she seems pretty compatible with famous Leo Ben, based on the stars!)
She’s originally from Oregon
Aubrey grew up in West Linn, Oregon, before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue her career in the entertainment and art space. Which brings me to…
Aubrey is a painter
At least according to her portfolio, which is linked in her Instagram bio. Per her official website, “Aubrey Cleland is a self-taught abstract painter whose work begins with attention—watching how color exists in the world, how it shifts, softens, vibrates, and lands in the body. Her paintings are not pre-planned so much as discovered, built through a process of responding, adjusting, and allowing each piece to become what it wants to be.”
Some of her work is even posted on her social media profiles, as outlined below:
She had a small role in the MCU…and in one of Ben’s music videos
Looks like her fiancé isn’t the only one who’s graced the screen! According to her aforementioned IMDb profile, Aubrey had a small role in Black Widow and even appeared in other projects like Lethal Weapon, Chasing Nightmares, The Sex Lives of College Girls, and The Row.
Oh, and she also appeared in Ben’s music video for his song, “Nevermind,” which dropped in December 2024. Peep her running by his side toward the end!
She sings a little, too
I mean…she was on American Idol back in 2013 and even made it to the semifinals, which isn’t nothing!
She also used to drop covers on her YouTube channel way back when, but these days, she’ll occasionally share clips of her singing at the piano on Instagram.
According to KPSU College Radio, Aubrey even joined Ben on stage for a “beautiful duet” near her hometown of Portland, where “their voices melted together perfectly” in January 2025.
Aubrey Cleland and Ben Barnes reportedly got quietly engaged after two years together
While the private couple hasn’t confirmed the news themselves, a source tells Page Six they quietly got engaged on New Year’s Eve last year.
Per the rumored report, the Shadow and Bone actor proposed to the American Idol alum “by the sea in the southwest of England,” where they were for “their first holiday together with both of their families at the time.”
Their rumored engagement has yet to be confirmed or denied, but we’re sending good vibes to the happy couple either way!
