Brice Turang has emerged as a potential World Series MVP candidate after the Milwaukee Brewers swept the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS to reach the Fall Classic for the first time since 1982. Jake Bauers claimed NLCS MVP honors following an impressive series, but could Turang take home the Fall Classic award?
In a video posted by MLB Network, several pundits and personalities shared their MVP picks, and Turang’s name came up twice.

Matt Vasgersian, the first person featured in the video, picked Turang for World Series MVP while predicting the Brewers to win the championship. He expects the second baseman to steal a couple of bases and launch a few home runs during the series, putting him on track to claim the award.
Mark DeRosa also named Turang as his Fall Classic MVP choice, backing Milwaukee to finish the series in six games. His pick may carry some personal influence, considering he coached Turang on Team USA during this year’s World Baseball Classic. Turang was not the only Brewer mentioned as a possible recipient, with William Contreras, Jake Bauers, Cooper Pratt, and starting pitcher Jacob Misiorowski also receiving consideration.
Brice Turang with the Brewers

Turang put together an impressive regular season, batting .268 while recording 21 homers and 100 RBIs. His production has dipped during Milwaukee’s postseason campaign, however, as he has flown under the radar on the Brewers’ path to the Fall Classic. He enters the Fall Classic with a .222 batting average, one home run, and two RBIs in the playoffs.

Whether Turang can turn his postseason struggles around and deliver a Fall Classic performance worthy of the MVP award remains to be seen. For now, the two MLB Network personalities who backed him are hoping their prediction comes true.
