PETALING JAYA: Amanah will contest eight seats in the coming Melaka polls, including Bukit Katil, the seat previously held by Amanah vice-president and former chief minister Adly Zahari.
Party president Mohamad Sabu said the seven other seats are still being discussed by the Pakatan Harapan presidential council for a decision before announcing the PH candidate list on Oct 24.
“We will definitely defend Bukit Katil,” he was quoted by Sinar Harian as saying after the Kelantan Amanah convention in Kota Bharu today. Mohamad said seat discussions at the Melaka PH level had been completed and did not run into major issues.
The Election Commission has set Nov 14 as polling day for the Melaka polls. Nominations will be held on Oct 31, with early voting set for Nov 10.
