Coach JaMarcus Shephard’s Oregon State Beavers are 5-2 on the season, 3-0 in the Pac-12 as they take in a bye week after receiver Jesse Legree’s insane 90-yard touchdown and performance against Washington State. Legree recently accomplished a feat faster than Heisman candidate Jeremiah Smith which has caused national college football media and fans to stand up and take notice.
News broke from ESPN insider Pete Thamel on Legree’s contract situation, during which it was revealed that he made a decision.
“Oregon State star freshman wide receiver Jesse Legree has re-signed with the Beavers and will return to play there in 2027, he tells ESPN,” Thamel wrote. “Legree leads the nation in receiving yards (1,040), touchdown catches (14), and receiving yards per game (148.6).”

Legree has consistently torched opposing defensive backs, including against San Diego State recently when he had a multi-touchdown game. Legree does not lack for confidence and bravado as he hit a Heisman Trophy pose against the Aztecs, announcing himself on the national scene.
The Beavers have a week off before heading to Fresno, California to take on the Fresno State Bulldogs at 11 p.m. ET, a night game showcase that could give him a chance to make a case for a Heisman Trophy ceremony invite. The Beavers have games left against Texas State, Boise State and Utah State, giving them a chance to run the table and be considered for a College Football Playoff spot.
Shephard and Legree’s team has the look of a force to be reckoned with in the Pac-12 Conference, and a duo to watch in the coming years with the star wideout now under contract and settling into his new surroundings nicely.
