Meghan Markle reportedly warned her father, Thomas Markle Sr., that he would never meet his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in what was described as her final message to him, a letter allegedly sent months before reports emerged about disturbing accusations against him.
According to The Sun, the Duchess of Sussex, 45, accused her father of sexually abusing children in the letter and told him that authorities were aware of the alleged conduct. She also reportedly warned that it would be the last time he would hear from her. The allegations have not been established as fact, and the reported contents of the letter have not been independently verified.

The letter was reportedly delivered after Thomas, 82, underwent a leg amputation in December 2025. He was recovering in a hospital in the Philippines after a blood clot cut off circulation to his leg, according to the report.
The Sun claimed Meghan coordinated with hospital staff to ensure the letter reached her father directly. The outlet also reported that she sent a form for him to sign confirming receipt and arranged for him to be videotaped receiving and reading the communication.
A relationship that has attracted intense public attention
The reported details offer new context for the long-running estrangement between Markle and her father, a relationship that has attracted intense public attention since her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018. Meghan says she was distressed by allegations
The reported letter follows revelations about a separate communication that allegedly brought the accusations to Meghan’s attention years earlier. Page Six reported Friday that Meghan learned of the alleged conduct through a letter sent to police in 2019 by Thomas Sr.’s former wife, Roslyn Loveless.
According to multiple sources cited by the outlet, the letter reached London’s Metropolitan Police before being forwarded to Meghan. In a statement to Page Six, Meghan said she was “deeply distressed” by its contents. “The letter made troubling and disturbing allegations against my father and I was given assurances that these were being investigated,” she said.
Sympathy for potential victims
Meghan also addressed the criticism she has faced over her decision to remain estranged from her father and not allow him contact with her children. “I hope it can now be understood that, despite certain media publications’ distortion over the years, any distance from my father and my choice to not allow him to have contact with our children, was for one reason: to protect them,” she said. “I trusted that the authorities were doing the same for other families.”
She concluded her statement by expressing sympathy for potential victims: “My thoughts are with any children who may have been harmed.” The statement did not establish whether the allegations were substantiated or whether any investigation resulted in charges or other legal action.
Meghan also faced criticism after she did not visit her father in the Philippines following his amputation. At the time, her representative confirmed to Page Six that she had contacted him during his medical emergency.
The newly reported account of the letter suggests that Meghan’s decision to maintain distance from Thomas was tied, at least in part, to concerns about the allegations described in the earlier communication. However, the precise circumstances surrounding the reported letter and any subsequent official investigation remain important distinctions in a story involving serious accusations.
The dispute has long played out in public, with Meghan’s relationship with her father becoming a recurring subject of tabloid coverage. The latest reports have renewed scrutiny of the family estrangement, while Markle’s own statement frames her decision around protecting her children.
