Riyadh – Saudi Arabia announced on Tuesday that it had intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis toward Riyadh.
Prior to the announcement, two explosions were heard in the Saudi capital, according to AFP, after authorities issued a brief warning of a potential threat.
The Saudi Civil Defense posted on its “X” platform that “an alert was issued from the National Early Warning Platform for Emergencies in Riyadh to warn of a potential threat.”
Minutes later, a new message was posted announcing that the threat to Riyadh had been averted.
