It is a reality that challenges are a part of every nation’s journey, but a true nation is one that faces hardships with courage and fortitude rather than being overwhelmed by them. It is a matter of great pride for the Pakistani nation that its youth are excelling in every walk of life and bringing honor to their country and nation.
If we look closely, Pakistan stands on the world map as a sacred land blessed with abundant natural resources, strong resolve, and highly talented youth. Although the country has experienced various economic and political ups and downs throughout its history, the resilience of the Pakistani nation has proven that it is second to none in any field across the globe. Whether it is science or technology, sports or fine arts, defense capabilities or humanitarian service, Pakistanis have proven their mettle on every front.
Similarly, in the field of healthcare, Pakistani individuals have played a significant role in safeguarding human health. The Holy Quran conveys the profound concept that whoever saves a single life, it is as if he has saved all of humanity. Protecting health is indeed the practical realization of this universal principle.
Serving humanity—regardless of color, race, religion, or language—means sharing one’s pain and making life easier for others. Human history bears witness that only those societies achieve progress, resilience, and sustainable survival where individuals support each other. While humanitarian service has numerous aspects, the most fundamental, vital, and sacred among them is “protecting health.” Health is not merely the absence of disease; it is the physical, mental, and social well-being of an individual upon which the entire foundation of society rests.
World Safety and Health Asia (WSHAsia) is an international organization working in the Asia-Pacific region on occupational health, safety, and the environment. It was established on September 22, 2019, in Singapore. The objective behind its creation was to address the growing issues of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions through a shared platform.
The organization’s vision and mission are to make workplaces worldwide completely safe, sustainable, and free from accidents, illnesses, and financial losses. Its goal is to establish a unified and dynamic international OSH network that sets the highest standards using modern safety practices and technology.
This organization annually organizes awards to recognize and encourage safety experts and institutions around the world. As part of this, the Safety Influencer of the Year 2026 award was presented to Qadir Mahmood, a prominent Occupational Safety and Health expert based in Singapore / UAE. He was honored at the prestigious WSHAsia Awards 2026 ceremony held at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore.
This award is presented globally in recognition of outstanding leadership, influence, and services in promoting safety and health standards across various industries. Qadir Mahmood competed against several international safety experts and influencers, securing victory after a rigorous and competitive selection process.
Qadir Mahmood’s success at the 2026 Awards in Singapore symbolizes that WSHAsia recognizes talent globally purely on the basis of competence and dedication, free from any bias. We believe this stands as an inspiring beacon and a calling for Pakistan’s youth: move forward, success awaits you. Wherever the young minds of this sacred land are, and in whichever field they choose to work, if they strive with heart and soul, success will surely kiss their feet.
