Just before halftime against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Kansas City Chiefs’ offense took the field with backup lineman Joshua Ezeudu at right tackle. He manned the position for the three plays that led into kicker Harrison Butker making a 50-yard field goal to put the Chiefs in front at halftime by a score of 19-3.
As the team went into the locker room for intermission, the team shared an injury update on starting right tackle Jaylon Moore.

Moore is in concussion protocol, the team said. That sets up Kansas City to start the second half with Ezeudu, a fifth-year career backup, at right tackle.
Ezeudu has 10 career starts, according to Pro Football-Reference. He has spent most of his NFL career at left tackle or left guard with the New York Giants. Per Pro Football Focus, Ezeudu has 402 snaps at left tackle, 317 snaps at left guard and just 3 snaps at right tackle during his professional career.
However, this preseason with the Giants, Ezeudu lined up at right tackle 44 times and right guard another 30 times.
With left tackle Josh Simmons (Back) still recovering from injury, Ezeudu is apparently the next man up at offensive tackle after Kansas City traded for he and Diego Pounds (Gameday inactive) before the regular season began. We’ll see if the lineup changes at halftime at all.
