Samsung’s upcoming W27 foldable has appeared in a leaked photo ahead of its expected October 29 launch. The China-exclusive phone is reportedly based on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, with matching specifications and a more premium design.
The leaked image shows a dark blue back panel with gold accents around the frame and camera island. It also features the W series’ gold seal logo near the bottom. Meanwhile, the triple camera setup and pill-shaped camera island match the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra.
Samsung’s W series offers luxury versions of its latest foldable phones exclusively in China. These devices are sold through China Telecom and typically feature premium finishes, extra RAM, and larger retail packages with additional accessories.
Last year’s W26 was based on the Galaxy Z Fold7 and introduced satellite calling and messaging through China’s Tiantong system. Both the 512GB and 1TB models came with 16GB of RAM. The phone was available in red and black, with gold accents on both versions.
The W26 started at CNY 16,999 ($2,390), while the 1TB model cost CNY 18,999 ($2,670). Samsung has not yet revealed the W27’s price, although more details should emerge around its expected launch next week.
Since the W27 reportedly shares its hardware with the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, it could feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Other expected specifications include an 8-inch foldable display and a 6.5-inch cover screen with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The phone is also expected to include a 200MP main camera and a 5,000 mAh battery. These specifications match those of the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, according to the existing review. However, Samsung has yet to confirm the W27’s hardware officially.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra already offers a configuration with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Based on last year’s W26, the W27 could also offer 16GB of RAM as standard. Its final pricing and availability details remain unknown ahead of the expected October 29 unveiling.
