Though they didn’t have their starting quarterback, the Ravens were still able to beat the Falcons in overtime to push their record to 4-1 on Sunday night.
Will Lamar Jackson be back for Week 6 against division rival Cleveland?
That’s still to be determined.
“[Jackson is] definitely doing better,” head coach Jesse Minter told reporters in his Monday press conference. “Wednesday, I’m not sure exactly how that practice will look. But, again, to Lamar’s credit, he’s doing everything he can to get back out there.”
Jackson suffered an ankle sprain during the Week 4 victory over the Titans. Tyler “Snoop” Huntley started Sunday’s game, going 24-of-32 passing for 201 yards with two touchdowns. He also rushed six times for 20 yards with a TD.
Minter complimented Jackson for how engaged he was on the sideline during the contest.
“I thought [Jackson] was awesome — there’s a lot of cool pictures and clips of him on the sideline in between series, talking to ‘Snoop’ and hyping guys up,” Minter said. “What a wonderful teammate and leader that he is, even when he wasn’t playing. So, very proud of Lamar for handling himself like that.
“And, again, he’s doing everything he can. I think we’ll know more, definitely, by the middle of the week.”
Additionally, Minter noted that center Cam Jurgens is nearing the end of the concussion protocol, which could mean he’s available for this week’s game against the Browns. Receiver Jacobi Lane and outside linebacker Trey Hendrickson also could return for the Week 6 matchup.
