Following another blown lead for another late loss against another ranked team, Husker fans may have found other things about which to be steamed up today, at least more-so than last night’s 10pm CST kickoff time.
But with a poll to back it up, we now know very few were happy with that time which had fans pounding coffee, yawning anyway and then having to eat a main dish of losing to Oregon late with Dylan Raiola leading the final two drives even if his 59 yards on 11 completions didn’t seem to indicate much beyond these two things:
1) Dan Lanning remembered enough about the previous weekend that he wasn’t letting Dylan throw much of anything more than 7 yards downfield, and
2) Joe Bauserman might have accomplished at least the same against an exhausted Blackshirt defense which was on the field for 12:45 of the 4th quarters 15 minutes.
And let’s just say that Husker folks today didn’t need sleep deprivation to make them any grumpier about the results OR the kickoff time.
If it makes anyone feel any better – and it won’t – Oregon fans I spoke with were also none too happy about the late start either.
ADULT Oregon fans anyway. A pre-4th quarter chant of “F*CK NEBRASKA!” from the student section left me utterly uninterested in their opinions but hopeful that sleep plus drunkenness found them zipping up their balls like Ben Stiller in Something About Mary. The students with balls, anyway.
And beans above the frank, too.
Here’s the results:

- 82% of Corn Nation did not like the 10pm kickoff, with a majority of 52% just downright hating it. It’s things like this which everyone gets stuck with, except for Daddy’s two favorites, which might cause Big 10 things to come to a head down the road.
- 18% loved it and kudos to you – I thought I was night owl, but I concede to this group.

- The first three did not disappoint. And how about Texas wasting no time going from #1 to the cusp of missing the playoff…again.

- And 79% of Wisco fans were wrong. Gawd, I love waiting until Sunday to do this.
