Erin Huskie, Alison Davidson and Greg McLellan honoured by club at Champions’ Dinner
Stirling enhanced its claim to be crowned as Scotland’s Club of the Year by not only hosting a Champions’ Dinner to mark three national title triumphs but also raising money for charity in the process.
In what is believed to be a first, Erin Huskie won the Scottish Women’s Amateur Championship at Southerness before Alison Davidson then triumphed in the Scottish Senior Women’s Open at Duff House Royal before Greg McLellan added the Scottish Men’s Amateur Championship at Murcar Links.

To mark the feat, the trio were honoured at a Champions’ Dinner at the club, during which they all received commemorative trophies from president Iain Morrison on behalf of the membership.
All three conducted a Q&A talking about their wins and their connection with Stirling Golf Club while they were also shown an emotional tribute video - recorded in secret - featuring those nearest and dearest to them.
The night was rounded off when club captain Peter Gilchrist presented all three players with framed pictures marking their wins and announced Huskie and McLellan would be made honorary members while Davidson, already an honorary member, will become an honorary vice-president.
“This is such a significant chapter in our club’s 157-year history that there was an acknowledgement from many that the achievements of Erin, Greg and Alison deserved further recognition,” said Gilchrist. “It is a truly fitting and lasting way to remember 2026 and a year like no other for this golf club.
“It’s fantastic, too, that the champions cover all categories - juniors, men’s and ladies’ sections. That speaks volumes for what this club stands for - providing opportunities for everyone in our community to play the game and fulfil their potential.”

On a night when the club picked up the tab, 80 guests made a charity contribution, resulting in £3,100 being raised for ALK Positive UK - a small charity that supports people/families affected by lung cancer.
The charity was chosen by Scottish stalwart Davidson and endorsed by Huskie and McLellan as it has provided support to Davidson during her ongoing treatment for cancer.
