If you're experiencing some serious online dating burnout from traditional swiping but still don't want to give up the chance to make a fun connection with a stranger, you owe it to yourself to try Pure.
Pure does almost everything differently, ditching dating profiles and endless swiping in favor of user-generated "ads" that are publicly visible for one hour at a time. If another user interacts with your ad, you receive a chat request to start the interaction.
In our experience, this approach is light-years ahead of traditional swiping, especially if you're just looking for a hookup — here's why.
A status update for the hookup-minded
Traditional dating apps operate slowly, encouraging users to take their time reading profiles and swiping left and right, and even when a match occurs, it can take days or even weeks from the first person swiping right to the other person confirming the match. Pure operates much faster: you post an ad to the post board, where it's publicly visible for just one hour, and other people can choose to interact with it or not.
In practice, this idea is genius, especially because the hookup mood is often temporary. If you find yourself eager for connection and with some free time, you can just load up Pure and check the most recent posts for something that stands out to you. Rather than long, involved dating profiles, Pure offers something closer to a status update, with only the essential information: who you are and what you're looking for, in the moment.
The "give to get" mechanic
One of Pure's best features is that it restricts post board viewing only to members who have already posted an ad. In other words, if someone sees your ad, it means they too have a one-hour-long post filled with a request, want, interest, or itch they want scratched.
Why is this so important? Because on regular dating apps, lots of people swipe through profiles out of curiosity, or boredom, or a need for validation. Pure cuts through the noise to offer concentrated desire in the form of a temporary personal ad
No wasted time
Another great feature of Pure's post system is that not only do the ads themselves disappear (typically after an hour), but so do the chats those ads generate, so if you do end up starting to talk with someone, both you and your chat partner have to act decisively to extend the chat or meet IRL before the 24-hour expiration deletes your entire chat history.
If you've ever wasted hours on a back-and-forth Tinder or Hinge chat that seemingly goes nowhere but never dies, you'll appreciate Pure's straight-to-the-point approach.
Privacy
If you're out for a hookup, you may appreciate the discretion and anonymity Pure affords its users. When you post an ad, you are under no obligation to include your age or a photo of your face, or even a photo. You can share whatever you're comfortable with sharing and then filter out people as they interact with you.
And because everything from the ad itself to the chats you may initiate as a result of the ad all expire after a set amount of time, erased not only from your app but from Pure's servers, you can be assured of a higher degree of privacy on Pure than on most conventional dating apps.
