AG Memorial Academy felicitates Asian Games Hockey gold medallist Bichu Devi

IMPHAL, Oct 13 : AG Memorial Academy, Charangpat, hosted a grand felicitation ceremony at its school campus to honour Indian women's field hockey player and recent Asian Games gold medallist Bichu Devi Kharibam alongside her parents, Kharibam Romen and Ibemma.
The reception was led by the school Principal, Thiyam Master, in the presence of the academy’s hockey coach, S Romykumar.
Expressing her deep gratitude for the warm reception, Bichu Devi presented a commemorative jersey and a model hockey stick to Principal Thiyam Master as a token of her appreciation.
The star goalkeeper fondly recalled her childhood days at the academy, expressing immense happiness to return to the institution where she studied until Class V. She promised to extend all possible support and guidance to the sports-loving students of the academy in the future.
Addressing the gathering, Bichu Devi highlighted the need to balance academics and sports, noting that education and athletics are interrelated. She emphasized that success is guaranteed for any student who can effectively strike a balance between the two.
Principal Thiyam Master voiced his absolute delight at seeing Bichu script such monumental success, bringing immense laurels not only to the country and the State of Manipur but specifically to Charangpat village.
He expressed the academy's collective pride in her stellar achievements and extended his warmest wishes for her future career.
