The deaths of three Tripura residents in Bengaluru have left their families grappling not only with grief but also with severe financial hardship, as they struggle to bring the mortal remains of their loved ones back home. With the cause of death yet to be clearly established, the bereaved families have appealed to the State Government and the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) for urgent financial and administrative assistance.
The deceased have been identified as Sajjit Debbarma (43), Laxmi Debbarma (22), and Parikshit Debbarma. All three had reportedly travelled to Bengaluru in search of employment and a better livelihood. However, news of their untimely deaths has plunged their families and communities into mourning.
According to family members, details surrounding the deaths remain unclear and they are still awaiting official information regarding the circumstances that led to the tragedy. The absence of concrete information has deepened the anxiety and anguish of relatives, who are eager to know the exact cause of the deaths.
Amid their grief, the families now face another daunting challenge. Sources said the cost of transporting the bodies from Bengaluru to Tripura is beyond their financial means. As a result, they have sought assistance from both the state administration and the TTAADC authorities to ensure the bodies can be brought back to their native places for the final rites.
The families have also requested administrative intervention to expedite the process of transporting the mortal remains, stating that delays are adding to their distress during an already difficult period.
The incident has once again highlighted the vulnerability of families whose members migrate outside the state in search of employment opportunities. In many cases, the sudden death of an earning member in a distant state leaves economically weaker families burdened with substantial expenses related to transportation of mortal remains, legal formalities and other logistical requirements.
The tragic deaths of the three Tripura residents have triggered concern in their native areas, with many urging authorities to extend immediate support to the affected families. Meanwhile, relatives continue to wait for clarity regarding the circumstances of the deaths and hope for swift assistance to bring their loved ones home.
