The initial SEC injury report was released for Texas matchup against Ole Miss this evening. While, the Rebels have many more times on their side of the injury report, there are certainly some notable names for the Longhorns as well.
Texas star EDGE rusher Colin Simmons is listed as doubtful for Saturday’s matchup, while running back Hollywood Smothers is listed as questionable. Other names listed for the Longhorns are wide receiver Kaliq Lockett and offensive lineman Jaydon Chatman (both questionable), as well as freshman EDGE rusher Richard Wesley (OUT).

Simmons going down during the Florida game is a huge blow for the Texas defense, as he has been playing at an extremely high level. Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp is going to need all hands on deck on Saturday to defend Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, who has been one of the most dynamic playmakers in the country at the quarterback position. On top of that, Ole Miss will have star running back Kewan Lacy back on the field, as he is listed as probable on tonight’s injury report.
Every game moving forward is a must-win for the Longhorns after dropping the last two matchups. They will need to get healthy moving forward as they try to navigate a difficult stretch in the schedule.
