(ANSA) - ROME, 23 OTT - Eni is to keep its recently introduced price cap on petrol and diesel through the end of the year, the Italian energy giant said Friday.
"We confirm that we will maintain the price cap through the end of the year," said CEO Claudio Descalzi following a telephone conversation with several newspapers, and the statement was confirmed to ANSA by an Eni spokesperson. "Regarding the specific price levels—currently set at 2.25 euros for diesel and 1.99 euros for gasoline, as announced at the beginning of October—we will monitor market and price dynamics, as well as the actual supplies available in relation to our logistics infrastructure, in order to evaluate the caps throughout this period."
