Cochrane is quickly becoming a popular spot for families looking for a little more space without straying too far from Calgary. And there’s a new show home in the area by Calbridge Homes, in the community of Fireside of Cochrane, that’s giving the traditional show home concept a really creative spin.
Rather than sticking to one design style from top to bottom, the home has been transformed into a multi-level showcase of three distinct interior designs, each with its own artistic personality. This is no average (or, dare we say, boring) showhome tour, it’s more of a curated gallery-inspired experience.
As guests move through each level, they’ll discover placards with QR codes beside key spaces in the home. Scanning a code unlocks a short audio story, bringing the “It’s a Calbridge” voice to life.
Here’s a look at what you’ll find on each level.
Main floor
The main level takes inspiration from nature and the works of Van Gogh, bringing together rich colours, soft curves, botanical details, and some playful touches.
The colour palette of muted wheat, olive, and blue make for a whimsical and inviting palette, while natural materials and sculptural details give the space an elegant and timeless feel.
In the kitchen, nature-inspired details are paired with practical features designed for everyday cooking and entertaining.
The powder room features a sky-blue ceiling and botanical-inspired designs, while the great room makes the most of its natural surroundings with large windows, beautiful views, and plenty of light.
Upper floor
The upper level takes a quiet, peaceful approach, inspired by the work of Danish painter Hammershøi. It features a simple and calming design that puts natural light front and centre.
Here, it’s all about clean lines, soft colours, and minimal patterns to give the space a relaxed, uncluttered feel.
The bonus room is made for unwinding, with a curved couch and soft textures. The upper floor bedroom, designed as children’s room, brings in a little more energy with a creative, youthful design.
Meanwhile, the primary ensuite feels moody and sophisticated with deep colours and warm wood details.
Lower floor
The lower level draws inspiration from the glow of a city after dark, and Pissarro’s painting The Boulevard Montmartre at Night with moody blue colours and warm yellow lighting.
The lounge is painted a deep twilight blue across the walls and ceiling, while warm fabrics and lighting add that cozy glow.
Reflective surfaces and warm metal fixtures throughout the space echo the look of city lights, resulting in an energetic and somewhat magical setting for entertaining or relaxing.
The Ledge offers a dedicated spot for showing off all of the things that make your space feel like yours — from art and books to vinyl collections and treasured mementoes.
In the bathroom, more deep blue tones and reflective tile create an inviting feel, while the lower-floor bedroom gets a boost of personality from its patterned headboard and hanging pendant lights.
The community
The cities and towns surrounding Calgary are growing in popularity, and Cochrane is no different. Beloved for its stunning views, new builds, and remarkable growth, Cochrane is perfect for established and growing families alike.
Cochrane’s Fireside community is just 30 minutes away from the mountains and 40 minutes away from downtown Calgary. The community itself has 63 acres of parks and pathways, surrounded by beautiful, single-family homes, townhouses, and bungalows.
Once you finish exploring the showhome, you’ll visit the Sales Centre to pick up a Community Handout to help you take the next step toward purchasing a Calbridge home.
