A Japanese BTS fan once used lyrics from one of the South Korean group's hit songs to alert passersby to a roadside fire in Itaewon, Seoul, potentially preventing flames from spreading to nearby premises
Although the incident happened in 2022, the story is gaining attention again after BTS member RM, who goes by @rkive, was spotted liking a recent repost of the story on Instagram.

The fan shouted "Bultaoreune" to alert people to the fire
The incident was originally shared by the Japanese tourist herself on X before going viral and being reported by Korean entertainment news outlet Koreaboo in 2022.
According to her account, she was visiting South Korea when she spotted a pile of rubbish burning in an alleyway in Itaewon.
Although she couldn't speak Korean, the BTS fan, also known as an ARMY, quickly thought of a way to alert people nearby.
She began shouting "Bultaoreune", a phrase famously repeated in BTS' 2016 hit song Burning Up (Fire), which translates to "It's burning up!" or "It's on fire!".
Her shouts caught the attention of passersby, and the owner of a nearby restaurant reportedly came out with water and a fire extinguisher to put out the flames.

RM's recent Instagram activity brought the story back into the spotlight
Fans could not help but celebrate the tourist's quick thinking, amused by how her knowledge of BTS' music came in handy in a real-life emergency and how she used an iconic lyric to communicate across a language barrier.
The original post also remains on the fan's X account, four years after the incident.
