(ANSA) - ROME, 14 OTT - Premier Giorgia Meloni said WEdnesday that supporters of far-right general-turned-politician Roberto Vannacci's National Future (FnV) party were flip-flopping on Ukraine and that resigning would be more credible for them.
Speaking after she slammed United States President Donald Trump's diesel deal with Russian President Vladmir Putin, Meloni said.
"What we are doing regarding Ukraine is exactly what is written in the manifesto we presented to the Italian people—the one on which both I and all of you were elected. I am certain that this change of position at the end of the legislative term is genuine and not driven by the risk of failing to get re-elected," but "in this case, it would be more credible if you resigned and ran for office based on the new positions you now advocate.
Otherwise, we are looking at yet another instance of political flip-flopping." Meloni addressed her remarks to MP Laura Ravetto, who has switched from the League, a Meloni ally, to FnV. (ANSA).
