Kim Si-woo and Kim Joo-hyung will compete in the Hero World Challenge, a PGA Tour exhibition event, after receiving invitations from golf great Tiger Woods.
The tournament's organizing committee announced its first list of 17 players on the 20th, Korean time, including world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler of the United States along with Kim Si-woo and Kim Joo-hyung. A total of 20 players will tee off in the event, hosted by Woods. It runs for four days from Dec. 3, local time, at the Albany Golf Course in the Bahamas.
The field is determined based on factors including world rankings at the close of the Tour Championship, the final leg of the PGA Tour playoffs. It is the first time Kim Si-woo has received an invitation to the event. He finished within the top 30 of the FedEx Cup standings this year to reach the Tour Championship.
Kim Joo-hyung played in the tournament in 2022 and 2024. This year he won the individual gold medal at the Asian Games in Japan, where a message of support from Woods drew attention.
Whether Woods himself will play has not yet been announced.
