The Pittsburgh Steelers’ secondary, which has dealt with a number of injuries lately, might have another to keep in mind.
Safety Jaquan Brisker was slow to get up in the third quarter after hurrying Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jalon Daniels into an incomplete pass, finally putting a stop to a lengthy drive by the hosts that ended with Chase McLaughlin’s 33-yard field goal.
Brisker pointed to his left thigh/groin as trainers approached on the sideline. After the television broadcast cut to commercial, he was able to walk back to the Steelers’ sideline and duck inside the blue medical tent.
Brisker had five total tackles before exiting the game. He entered the day with 34 combined stops and an interception.
The Steelers didn’t give Brisker much time to get looked at, going three-and-out and giving the ball right back to the hosts. He jogged back out with the defense for that following series.
Jamel Dean, who spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Buccaneers, nursed an ankle injury and missed last week’s win over the Indianapolis Colts before returning to play his former crew. Jalen Ramsey had a broken wrist, but played through it.
Rookies Daylen Everette and Robert Spears-Jennings have been thrust into action a good bit early on in their careers.
