The Rangamati district administration has lifted the travel ban on Sajek Valley, reopening the popular tourist destination to visitors from tomorrow (16 October) after suspending visits on 11 October.
The decision was announced in an emergency public notice issued by the Rangamati Deputy Commissioner's Office today (15 October).
The notice said all tourist destinations in Sajek Valley would reopen to visitors from 16 October, lifting the restriction imposed on 11 October.
Under the earlier directive, the administration had suspended tourist visits to Sajek Valley from 6pm on 11 October until further notice, citing unavoidable circumstances.
Tourists staying in the area were also instructed to return safely to their respective destinations by 5pm on 13 October.
The restriction came amid concerns over a possible deterioration in law and order following an announced blockade in Sajek linked to rivalry between two regional groups in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
Tourist safety and security were cited as reasons for suspending visits.
