Can the Boston Celtics finish the 2026-27 NBA regular season with the No. 1 seed in the league's Eastern Conference standings? This was the question that was posed in a recent episode of 98.5 The Sports Hub's "Zolak and Bertrand" show in a clip making its way through the local sports media ecosphere.
While there is a very good case that the Celtics made their roster better by replacing Jaylen Brown with a full season of Jayson Tatum, and then adding Mitchell Robinson and Paul George as well, there has not been as many potential contenders in the East for many years now. The defending champion New York Knicks are joined by the Philadelphia 76ers, Toronto Raptors, Detroit Pistons, and Cleveland Cavaliers as potential regular season juggernauts, and the Miami Heat, Atlanta Hawks, and Charlotte Hornets could conceivable get into the picture with good health and a few more moves ahead of the trade deadline.
Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say about where they think Boston will finish the season.
