Drag racing is a parts-buying sport, and the biggest parts store on the calendar is in Las Vegas. From Nov. 3–6, NHRA will set up the “NHRA on FOX Stage” on the SEMA Show floor at the Las Vegas Convention Center, booth 22331 in Central Hall, and stream interviews from it on NHRA.com and the series’ YouTube channel.
That is the confirmed part. The less comfortable part: the interview schedule is listed as “to come,” and no guests have been named. So for now, NHRA has sold a week of programming without publishing the lineup.
Why a drag series goes to SEMA
Strip the glamour off a Top Fuel or Funny Car pass and you are looking at a supply chain at full throttle: blowers, clutch packs, fuel systems, tires, electronics. Sportsman racers and track operators buy from the same shelves. SEMA is where that industry gathers under one roof, which makes a streaming stage there less of a promotional stunt than a visit to the people who keep the sport’s entrants running. The trade side takes its own honors seriously, as PRI’s Hall of Fame class showed in October.
The open mic is the real offer
NHRA is not only inviting guests; it is inviting the paddock to book itself. Racers, partners and member tracks are asked to stop by the booth, share news and contact NHRA’s David Kennedy about a stage interview. My read, and it is analysis, not reporting: that is a cheap way to fill four days of video, and a free distribution channel for a small team with a new combination, a sponsor announcement or a track with a 2027 date to promote. Whether it works depends on who actually turns up with news worth a camera.
The Funny Car breakfast is the anchor
The best-defined event is off the stage. On Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 7:30 to 9 a.m., NHRA hosts its SEMA breakfast at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, Ballrooms A and B. It is free to registered SEMA attendees. Matt Hagan, Ron Capps, J.R. Todd and Jordan Vandergriff will sit on a Funny Car panel moderated by Brian Lohnes. NHRA’s own framing has Hagan leading the points with Vandergriff second, Todd in the top five all season and Capps ahead for much of the regular season.
That lineup is a useful reminder of how tight this class is. Hagan already owned the regular-season crown before the Countdown started, yet the title is still open, and Vandergriff’s rise has been part of why, as the Midwest Nationals final showed. The championship gets settled at the In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals, Nov. 12–15 at Pomona, with the awards ceremony following on Nov. 16. A room full of aftermarket buyers hearing those four drivers talk is the sport’s best sales pitch, and it costs NHRA a ballroom and some eggs. Autograph signings are also set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the booth.
The FOX name on the stage
The stage carries FOX branding, while the broadcast picture beyond this season is changing. How 2027 coverage divides between networks is its own story, and we laid it out in our look at the new TV deal. Nothing in NHRA’s SEMA announcement says the stage is tied to that arrangement, so treat the name as branding, not a signal.
What to watch
First, the interview schedule: until NHRA posts it, the stream is a promise, not a lineup. Second, who uses the booth to announce 2027 programs, since that is where an industry show earns its keep. Third, the booth hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. If you cannot get to Vegas, NHRA.com and YouTube are the places to follow along.
