There’s no doubt that US LBM Coaches Poll No. 8 Notre Dame took a shift in rankings and projected College Football Playoff brackets after its loss to No. 4 BYU over the weekend.
That was shown in USA TODAY Sports’ NCAA Re-Rank after Week 7. The Fighting Irish came in at No. 5, dropping three spots from last week.
BYU catapulted from No. 13 to 3 following its big win over Notre Dame.
“The BYU win against Notre Dame ranks among the best by any team this season, justifying the 10-spot leap from last week’s ranking,” USA TODAY Sports’ Paul Myerberg said in his report.
Ohio State, Miami and Georgia round out the top five of the Re-Rank.
The results of Week 7 including losses throughout the top 10, causing huge changes in the latest edition of the NCAA Re-Rank 1-138. https://t.co/XPcPUpMDtl
