A street in Basra under cloudy weather conditions
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Meteorological Organization and Seismology forecast fluctuating cloud cover across the country over the coming days, with localized rainfall expected to begin on Tuesday and intensify intermittently across several regions through Wednesday and Thursday.
According to the official weather bulletin issued on Sunday, October 25, 2026, conditions on Sunday feature fair skies with scattered clouds across the central region, and partly cloudy skies in the north and south with isolated chances of light showers.
Temperatures are expected to edge slightly higher across central and southern provinces while remaining near seasonal averages in the north, maintaining mild autumn conditions during daytime hours before turning cool overnight and early in the morning.
Monday will see fair to partly cloudy conditions nationwide, accompanied by light and variable winds and stable temperatures. By Tuesday, partly cloudy conditions will dominate across all provinces, with chances of light rain showers developing across western territories that could turn thundery at times, under light to moderate southeasterly winds.
Atmospheric instability will expand on Wednesday, bringing predominantly cloudy skies accompanied by light, occasionally thundery rain showers across western districts, before precipitation chances extend into northern and southern provinces.
Temperatures on Wednesday will rise slightly in the central and southern regions while dipping in the north.
Cloudy conditions and scattered rainfall ranging from light to moderate intensity—with occasional thundery activity—are projected to persist into Thursday.
The front will usher in a slight drop in temperatures across the central and northern governorates, while southern regions will see steady readings. Horizontal visibility will remain generally good, deteriorating temporarily during brief rain squalls or localized dust activity.
