KUALA LUMPUR: National songstress Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza is currently recovering from facial bruising after a fall during rehearsals for her Gema Bumantara Traditional Concert, held at the TM National Stadium in Bukit Jalil last Saturday.
The incident occurred when the 47-year-old singer was practising a jump using a long piece of fabric.
She tripped and fell face-first onto the floor, suffering minor injuries, including small cuts near her eyes and bruising on her right cheek.
In an update on her condition via an Instagram post, Siti shared that while the bruising is improving, her cheekbone is still swollen.
"All that's left is for the bruising to fade; there is no pain, though my cheekbone area still feels swollen.
"Praise be to God, all of this is a sign of His love for me," she said.
The concert drew a crowd of over 63,000 and aimed to celebrate and revive traditional music for a new generation.
During the three-hour show, Siti performed more than 30 classic songs. She was joined by a stellar lineup of guest stars, including the Queen of Irama Malaysia, Noraniza Idris, Haziq Rosebi, and Indonesian vocal powerhouses Lesti Kejora and King Nassar.
