Rob Beckett said his friend and fellow comedian Romesh Ranganathan will “avenge” him after becoming the third faithful murdered on the Celebrity Traitors.
The BBC reality game show kicked off its latest episode on Thursday by revealing the 40-year-old comedian was the latest victim of traitors Maya Jama, James Acaster and Hannah Fry.
He was murdered face-to-face during a deadly game of hide-and-seek – which also involved fellow faithfuls Ranganathan, Ross Kemp and Leigh-Anne Pinnock.

When deciding who to murder, comedian Acaster described Beckett as “the random choice”, and said: “If it’s Rob, it’s like, ‘Why was it Rob?'”
“This is going to mess with everybody’s heads,” mathematician Fry said after the group agreed in their next victim.
Speaking during a confessional after his murder, Beckett said: “It’s a liberty, innit? It’s over. I’m a dead man.
“In a way, this is good news for the faithfuls because I was nowhere near getting Maya Jama and James Acaster – no chance.
“It’s been amazing. I will cherish my memories.”
Referencing his fellow comedian and close friend, he added: “However, if I know one thing, my boy Romesh Ranganathan will avenge my death, and he will get them.”

“I feel like I let Rob Beckett down,” Ranganathan said following the news that his friend had been killed off the show.
“Rob is so unthreatening that he’s never going to get banished.”
Referring to the special key which prevented the traitors from being able to murder a player, which the faithfuls opted to give to Pinnock, the comedian added: “He’s the guy that we should have given the key to.
“He also happens to be one of my best friends. I’m sad. It’s not going to be the same without him.”

It comes after Coronation Street actress Julie Hesmondhalgh was banished from the Scottish castle during Friday’s episode last week.
The soap star, 56, was a faithful but became the latest victim of the roundtable after a campaign led by singer James Blunt which sparked doubt about her good nature.
Other celebrities who have been voted out include Industry actress and faithful Myha’la, as well as actor Richard E Grant – who raised suspicion after mistakenly revealing he was a traitor minutes into the game.
His banishment marked the first time a traitor was caught during the very first roundtable in the series.

The fourth episode of The Celebrity Traitors saw a peak audience of 9.6 million people tune in, and saw Bella Ramsey killed while Hesmondhalgh was banished.
Celebrity Traitors continues on BBC One.
