Stars were on the stage last week.
Daniel Boulud surprised fans with a cameo in the Metropolitan Opera’s production of “La Bohème” last Friday.
We hear the acclaimed chef walked across the street from his new restaurant, Brasserie Boulud, before taking to the stage during Act II.
The scene, in which Boulud portrayed the chef and owner of the bustling Café Momus in Paris’s Latin Quarter, features a lively restaurant atmosphere, with waiters, diners, street vendors and the arrival of Musetta, who performs the celebrated aria “Quando me’n vo’” (“Musetta’s Waltz”).
There has already been plenty of star power spotted at Boulud’s Lincoln Center French hotspot since opening earlier this month, including sightings of Fran Drescher, Andrew McCarthy, Al Roker, Deborah Roberts and Yo-Yo Ma.
Culinary legends have also stopped by to show Boulud support, such as Alain Ducasse, Eric Ripert and Jean-Georges Vongerichten.
On Sunday, Machine Gun Kelly joined Anthony Anderson and festival founder Lee Brian Schrager onstage to debut Coffee Culture, the New York City Wine & Food Festival’s first-ever non-alcoholic event.
We’re told MGK discussed 27 Club Coffee, his rock ’n’ roll-themed coffee shop with locations in Cleveland and Miami and plans to open up shop in Brooklyn.
He spoke about “his ambition to grow as an entrepreneur and create a positive experience for guests,” a source told us.
The “Bloody Valentine” artist also had a candid and unexpected answer when Anderson asked how he got into the restaurant business.
“He playfully said he ‘stopped doing cocaine and looked for a better high,'” our source shared.
We’re told MGK’s rumored new girlfriend, Dakota Johnson, was not present for the event.
Just days prior, Sylvester Stallone kicked off NYCWFF’s Trade Day by holding a Q&A with his wife, Jennifer Flavin
“Stallone talked about his new vodka, Carbonadi, and discussed everything from raising three daughters to how promoting a liquor brand is like promoting a movie – you have to put yourself out there,” the source said.
Elsewhere at the event, Bryan Cranston poured up glasses of his Dos Hombres mezcal for attendees while interacting with fans and posing for photos.
