A group including Buddhist monks who arrived demanding the release of Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera under the ‘Freedom Foot March’ campaign is still gathered on the road outside the Presidential Secretariat.
The group, including members of the Maha Sangha, arrived near the Presidential Secretariat yesterday (Oct. 15) and stressed that the Government must provide a clear response regarding Gnanasara Thera’s release.
Subsequently, Secretary to the President Dr Nandika Sanath Kumanayake arrived at the location and met with the Maha Sangha.
During the meeting, the monks requested that Ven. Gnanasara Thera be granted his freedom.
